Frost

SETUP: 

This game runs in Pygame. If you understand how to set it up, feel free to. However, if you are confused, a very simple tutorial is downloadable under the ZIP file.

DESCRIPTION:

A girl finds herself by a furnace, and must continue to stoke the constantly decreasing fire to keep the cold away. Being near the furnace allows you to move at full speed, but the cold barrier will slow you down and slowly remove health. The further in the cold you are, you get slower and begin to lose more health.

resources must be earned by doing interactives (clicking trees and gambling with slot machines)

An enemy lurks outside the furnace. The player must balance the enemy, and the furnace. The enemy sabotages the furnace, which can be avoided by getting near them.

A cave is located by the furnace, but is blocked by ice. The ice can be thawed as the furnace stokes and allows the player to exit.

The Hero's Trial is a rougelike-esque spin on the traditional game loop. While the gameplay fundamentals are finished, there is currently a very anticlimactic win condition.

ROADMAP:

Ver 0.9: Expect quality of life improvements in the main game and Hero's Trial. There will be new items, as well as a trader in the plaza that allows you to make risky trades from different types of tokens, as well as loan tokens for a greater reward at a later point, assuming you can make it that far without the tokens you relinquished. The Hero's Trial will have a definitive end and a possibility to skip it for unlimited play. If any bugs are noticed, please feel free to state so, as many will be fixed during this update.

Ver 1: The game should feel complete by now. A fully functioning animation loop should allow for cutscenes, as well as more intricate movement animations and an interesting opportunity after the first 7 waves in the Hero's Trial. This update should fix all bugs, however, do not expect many if any updates after Ver 1 releases.
